Clarke welders pack a lot of punch for the money. I own a 190en and have used a 180en. Both will put out some serious heat. If you're welding structural steel, certainly between 18 gauge and 3/8", possibly up to 1/2" with right techniques, this is a good choice. Both models have 6 heat settings, quite a lot for this style voltage selector, this 180 has a high/low range switch with 3 position dial whereas the 190 has a 6 position dial.
Negatives include the low duty cycle (something like 10% at 140 amps), although I've definitely gone over that without tripping overload. Be aware that it will burn through anything thinner than 18ga steel. Good deals can be had though!
