(More customer reviews)Although I am in fact a welder, among other things, I used this brush for a completely different purpose. My Viking stove was sparking far too long after ignition. This is often caused when the sparkers don't detect the ground due to residue build up. And you need a brass brush to clean them so that you don't scratch them. This brush worked great and saved me an expensive repair call. It is well constructed, easy to use, and did a great job cleaning up the burners. I might use it sometime when I weld, but for now I use it as a lovely addition to my kitchen clean up tools.

(More customer reviews)this kit is typical of a offshore product,cheap material,very poor quality,these kits are made to fit the portable 20cu.ft.oxygen tank and the 10cu.ft.acetylene tank known world wide as the MC type tank yet the fittings on both regulators are made to fit the "A" tanks only,what good is that,Toolprice ,where the kits are sold thru has sent me 3 regulators and fittings yet nobody at TOOLPRICE seems to understand what a MC tank is,I'm still waiting over a month for satisfaction,terrible,I would never purchase nothing from them again,also any torch kit I have ever used the different tips have a collar nut on each tip to loosen or tighten when changing tips,these tips don't have that,they are just cheap thin walled copper with a threaded end that you screw in to the torch body when changing tips,these create a leakage problem and also won't last long with excessive usage.I would not recommend this kit to anybody,would highly suggest paying the extra money for a certified Victor or Harris original

Motor Guard JMC001 Magna Spot Weld Cutter Review

The tool is basically an end mill with a center locating pin.
Recommend drilling a thru hole with a small drill bit first, then using this tool.
Makes nice clean holes. Have cut about 30 welds and still sharp.

Lincoln Electric K2275-1 140C & 180C Welder Cart Review

(More customer reviews)What a waste. Poor assembly drawing with no instructions. The lack of instructions didn't bother me until I started assembly. I put the axle through the bottom shelf and pounded on the cheap wheel stops. You know the ones...they have teeth that grab the axle and can't be removed without tearing them up. Well, guess what? The rear uprights go between the wheels and the bottom shelf. I had to take a wheel off to remove the axle so I could place each upright where it belonged. Unfortunatly, I could not remove the wheel stop without tearing up the stop. I also messed up the wheel trying to pry off the wheel stop with a large screw driver. Now I had to replace the wheels - both cause you can't find a matching wheel. The wheels were so cheap anyway. They didn't have bearings and they were designed and built just like the wheels on a child's toy. So I bought two very nice wheels from Lowes and drilled a hole through both ends of the axle so I could use cotter pins to hold the wheels on. Now I've got the cheap pseudo-welding cart assembled and I try to attach the welder. This cart is supposedly designed for the 140/180C Linclon Welder (check Lincoln website). I had to use longer bolts in the front (the supplied bolts were too short) and the welder fit so tight against the handle that it was extremely difficult to attach. It was a wrestling match that I bearly won.
What a piece of junk! By the way I bought a 140C and the first one arrived with the lower front corner pushed in so you could not shut the access door completly - damage was not caused by shipping and handling. I sent it back and it was replaced with another unit that had the same door problem. This one did not have the corner pushed in, it just wouldn't catch. I was able to bend the sheetmetal so it would finally shut completely. Another piece of crap made by Lincoln. I can't speak for their large industrial welders, but the stuff they sell for the do-it-yourselfer is garbage - at least that is my limited experience.

has no upper jaw brace, thinner metal overall, and doesn't have as deep a throat. However it
does have a wider flange on both jaw brazes. They work about the same. I'd say look in the

Hobart 770626 20-Ounce Portable Co2 Cylinder Kit with Fixed-Flow Regulator Review

The greater portability may be true, but as an "economical alternative to large cylinders" it most assuredly is NOT.
In fact, this product is the antithesis to "economical" since, depending on where you live, a 20 OUNCE CO2 refill, which is what this item takes, will be anywhere from four to ten dollars. (In my area it is eight dollars).
However, if you actually owned a "large cylinder", say a 20 POUND bottle, then it would only cost about twenty dollars to refill. Huge difference, as the Hobart 20oz bottle above will last only fourty minutes, while the 20 POUND bottle will last about ten HOURS.
You say the initial setup for such a large bottle would be far too expensive? Well, a large 20 pound cylinder cost me about one hundred and five dollars, and the CO2 regulator (which is fully adjustable -- not fixed at 20CFH -- and has twin gauges), cost me thirty dollars.
And to top it off, you can usually get away with only 10CFH of gas while MIGing indoors, which will instantly double your CO2 gas supply. But you can't drop the fixed 20CFH with the Hobbart, but you can with any other normal CO2 regulator...
So you be the judge of just how "economical" this little one hundred dollar 20 oz Hobart paintball bottle is, along with its fixed 20CFH regulator...

US Forge Welding Flint Striker Triple #00509 Review

(More customer reviews)This flint will require a person with normal strength in their hand and it definitely is a one time squeeze for loads of sparks.
I use flints for my gas stove since it wastes money with the pilot lights at approximately $70.00/year and some of my cheaper flints were getting temperamental.
You won't have to do the entire squeeze for a stove, with this one, unless you want sparks flying.
Later, I washed off and dried the strike areas on my cheapos and they worked again. The first time I only brushed them off so maybe I had some grease on there.
Now I have 3. However, I love the 3 flint aspect of this flint that gives a spark every time. Just take it easy for gas stoves indoors. I can see why they call it a welding flint since you'd want to make sure you had a reliable spark in that situation.

(More customer reviews)I like the 2lbs size and the price of this welding wire. I've used Lincoln since I started welding several years ago. Took it out yesterday for its first test... Needed to build a new gate for our horses. I used rusty old well pipe that I had laying around. Cleaned it up a bit with a wire brush (my grinder just died) and had at it. There was less spatter with this wire than others, it penetrated well, and it laid very smooth. The only issue I had was occasional binding in the hose. Not sure why. I have never had that happen with Lincoln wire. The gate was finished, hung, and tested. Worked great, welds are strong and look pretty decent for flux on old pipe.

(More customer reviews)After observing the stereo installer for my car using a portable soldering iron I had to inquire about it. Too many times I have taken the lazy mans out and taped connection when working on the car or motorcycle rather than taking the time to run the extension cord and hook up a standard soldering iron; and I have paid the price in shorts and open connections at the most inopportune times.
As usual I first researched the list of portable gas soldering irons. They basically fell into two categories, those with and those without self-ignition. Well knowing how difficult it is for me to even keep up with a soldering iron much less matches or a lighter, I knew it had to have self-ignition. Then I just researched the reviews and decided on the Portasol. I am very happy that I did. It came with a full complement of accessories, lights effortlessly, is small, a full butane charge will last almost an hour, and puts out a lot of heat quickly. The only beef that I had is that it is difficult to tell that it is lit at first in bright light. But within a few seconds you can definitely feel the heat. If you do wire soldering in tight or inconvenient places, this item is without compare. Highly recommended.
