The two biggest problems that I have with this unit is that the adjustments are either on or off and very poor heat control. I am not in marketing and wonder to whom they were trying to design this product for. If you are an hobbyist and want a portable unit scrape up $300 and buy a Victor Standard Welding and Cutting Kit.

(More customer reviews)This torch is ideal for the progressing amateur jeweler. It offer pinpoint control over where the heat goes - even the #5 tip (the one that comes with the kit) lets you direct the heat to with very fine control. Other tips are available, though, for even finer control or for heating larger areas or heavier workpieces.
This works with disposable oxygen and fuel (propane or MAPP) tanks, easy to get a most hardware stores. They might not have the capacity for a production shop, and cost more in the long run. For the home hobbyist, though, or for someone whose workspace can't accept the size or risk of full-sized tanks, that's a real benefit.
This doesn't come with a torch stand, but it's easy enough to make or buy one. It does come with a tank stand. It's not much to look at, but the wire rack helps keep things neat and keeps the tanks from falling over. I might make a new tank stand in the future and will have to if I start using the larger sizes of disposable tanks, but this one is fine for now.
The Little Torch won't weld a trailer hitch onto your truck, but it was never designed to. It doesn't replace a larger propane-air torch, either. You'll need that for heating large areas, and the wider, gentler flame makes annealing a little easier than with this one. From the moment you pick this torch up, though, you just won't want to put it down.

Firepower (FIR1423-1423) Lightnin' Bug Torch Lighter Review

(More customer reviews)With arthritis in my hands it is difficult for me to use a good old fasion spark striker. When I saw the Lightnin" Bug Torch Lighter I thought I found a solution to my problem. Never seenig one in use by anyone before (should have told me something) I still assumed they worked. I purchased two of them for my cutting torches and was soon disappointed. There is indeed five sparks per squeeze as advertised but the sparks are just too tiny to ignite the gas. Without perfect eyesight you will not see the sparks. Many times I would have to give over a dozen squeezes in order to get ignition.
I find the Lightnin' Bug Torch Lighter a bad investment that will be put asside and not used.

I contacted the seller via email and received a response almost immediately from Jude. Since I never ascertained whether Jude was male or female, I'll refer to Jude as a female, for the caring felt like it came from a mother. She apologized and found a way to have me send these gloves back, while she secured another dozen in size 7. She kept me informed the entire time, and even suffered me emailing her back with a reference to the Beatles' song.
I'd reccomend them to anyone, and they've earned my business for life. And Jude deserves the highest of honors for incredibly great customer service! Thanks again, Jude!

(More customer reviews)having previously had glove liners for cold climate work, this package of 12 was ordered. While the fit is slug and they work well inside gloves, adding additional protection from the cold, I have been disappointed that the material or stitching at the end of thumbs (2) or fingers (1) has failed.
The liners are uni-directional, without lefts or rights, therefore the "good ones" can be combined while the bad glove is tossed. However, having to tossing half the glove liners used to date, most the first or second time they are put on, indicates quality has not been the key factor while producing the product.
Until something better is located, these will continue to serve a needed function.

Auto Darkening Shade Adjustable Solar Welding Helmet Review

(More customer reviews)I picked this up at a harborfright location on sale for about 50 bucks for a class I'm taking in school. It also came with a no questions asked 1 year return policy that's real nice!!! (note: that's the harborfright deal I don't know about Amazon). After I bought it I had to go to a welding supply store to get the rest of the stuff I needed. I compared it to a $130 hot rod looking helmet and other then weight and viewing area I could not tell a deference once I had it on. The shade darkens and adjust just like it's supposed to and has not given me any problems thus far after something like 12 hours of welding in the class. The head size is easy to adjust and it comfortable with a Velcro sweet band for easy washing.
I don't know how long it's going to last now, but if you're not a welder buy trade this is just as good as any on the market in functionality and safety for your weekend projects.
