The school gloves were stiff which hindered handling ability. The cuffs only came past the wrist and left the arms unprotected. The insulation factor was minimal.
After receiving and using the gloves from Amazon my grandson reported, "These gloves are awesome!" The leather is thick for heat resistance yet soft and plyable which aides in handling ability. Between the first finger & thumb and down through the palm of the hand is an extra layer of leather. The cuffs are long and protect his arms almost to his elbow. An added feature is the wonderful blue color; he is the only one that has this color gloves. They are easy to spot and look cool.
